"How Do I Tight-Line My Eyes?"

"How Do I Tight-Line My Eyes?"

Considering the fact that they're little more than glorified crayons or colored pencils, eyeliners can be intimidating -- especially if you never got a gold star for coloring within the lines.

One question that everyone asks about is "tight-lining" the eyes. "What is the best eyeliner to use when I tight-line my eyes, and which one works best when lining the upper and lower watermark? I love these techniques but have not found the 'perfect' product yet!"

"Tight-lining [a technique where you apply eyeliner directly to your lashline, preferably from the underside] is a great trick for making lashes appear fuller and accentuating the eyes in a subtle way. I prefer to use a pencil as I feel it's softer on the underside of the eye. You want to make sure your pencil is freshly sharpened to achieve the thin line required."

Here's what to do:

Step 1: With one hand, lift your top eyelid until the upper waterline is visible.
Step 2: With your other hand, draw the liner across the underside of your upper lashline.

"Using a product that's waterproof is great for the inside rim, because it has the staying power you want," says Sage. Her recommendation? CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner, $7.49. "It's completely blendable but is also waterproof, so it gives you the longevity you want."

Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss Review

Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches

Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss

Surround Me in Pink Tulle

Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss ($23.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is described as a “hot pink with pearl.” it’s a translucent light-medium pink with lots of silver sparkle. On my lips, it enhances the natural pink coloring found in my lips and gives them a truer pink look (less washed out, since my natural lip color is rather corpse-like). If you have more pigmented lips, it’s going to resemble clear gloss with a truckload of sparkle. MAC Floating Lotus is lighter and has finer shimmer. MAC Sweet Bean has finer shimmer. Bobbi Brown Pastel is much lighter, milkier. MAC Sueprglass has flaky shimmer instead.
Having a gloss like this in your stash is worthwhile, but it’s not necessarily a shade you need to have several versions of, because a lot of those differences get lost on the lips. I’ve been reaching for this gloss often when I need something to wear for blush photos or in a video and don’t have a light enough lip color that might work, because a lot of the fall eye products have been pretty dark (as have the lip products; neither is a surprise). Super shiny, glossy enough to give lips a fuller look, and gorgeous sparkle that shimmers and dazzles. It’s semi-sheer to semi-opaque but there’s an obvious translucency, as the natural lip color most definitely will come through, but there’s a lot of sparkle–so the more light that catches the shimmer, the more opaque it looks (see the difference between the flash and studio lit photos).
Bobbi Brown’s High Shimmer Lipgloss is a staple product for me. If you forced me to commit to a single gloss formula, I’d go here. I can say that without hesitation, and I really can’t do that with most products. I will equivocate and hum and haw and tell you it depends on the shade or occasion or the like, because it’s usually true, and it’s hard to pick one favorite and commit to it. This formula is high-shine, non-sticky, comfortable and hydrating to wear, wears well, and has shimmer that really wows. It never feels gritty, and Pink Tulle, despite its subtle color, lasts a solid four hours on me. Bobbi Brown’s glosses are mint-scented and come with a doe-foot applicator. Bonus: also includes more gloss than the average one does.

MAC Hot Gossip Lipstick Review

MAC Hot Gossip Lipstick Review, Photos and Swatches!

MAC Hot Gossip Lipstick

MAC Hot Gossip Lipstick ($15) is desrcibed as a mid-tone pinky plum. It's a shade I would have never picked up a couple of years ago, and a shade I've overlooked ever time I'm shopping at the MAC counter. I'd like to call it a grown-up pink - your progression from baby pinks and nudes. It looks quite boring in the tube when you look at it in indoor lighting, but in the sunlight, you really get to see how complex and pretty this pink is. It kind of reminds me of a more pigmented, brighter and pinker Rimmel Airy Fairy.

Hot Gossip brings color to my face without being too bright, and makes my lips look a bit more noticeable and full. I think it's a shade that will work on many skintones from warm to cool, light and dark.

It's a cremesheen formula, so it applies smooth and is opaque with a few swipes of the tube.

MAC Saint Germain Lipstick Review

MAC Saint Germain Lipstick Review, Photos and Swatches!

mac saint germain lipstick review

MAC Saint Germain Lipstick

MAC Saint Germain Lipstick ($15) is described on the MAC website as a clean, pastel pink. It's a very blue-based (cool toned) pink, so it can appear a bit lilac-purple. It's a very "barbie" pink, that can be difficult to pull off, and most times is a hit or miss on most skin tones. I think it's absolutely beautiful on light skin tones (see Katy Perry below) and I actually didn't discover my love for blue-pink lipsticks until I tried one minus my faux tan (around the MAC NC15 coloring).

Because it's very light (pastel), and it's a very opaque formula of lipstick, it can look a bit harsh as it can completely block out the color of your lips (much like any pastel - such as MAC Fleshpot or Myth), but when applied sheer, and combined with a pink lip gloss on top, it's so much more wearable.

Face Of Australia- Sheer Gloss Crayons (Review)

Hey lovelys!- Just a quick review :) xx
http://www.youtube.com/ellahbeauty

Something tells me Face of Australia might reconsider selling these babies as a limited edition release. I first spotted FOA’s Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons (set of three) at my local Priceline last week; I was really there to check out Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, alas, they haven’t been shipped to Australia yet. However, I had stars in my eyes when I fixed my gaze on these. And the price isn’t too shabby either.
Always on the pursuit for the next best thing while maintaining some sort of grasp on my purse strings, dupes are definitely a good thing in my book. Imitation is considered to be the sincerest form of flattery – for lip crayons it started with Clinique’s Chubby Stick, then Tarte came a’knocking with Lipsurgence lip tint and now Revlon’s coming to the party too. The four of these options are wind up, goof-proof and super easy to use – but, there’s always a but, they vary in price. Chubby Sticks sell for a whopping $35 AUS / $16 USD, Tarte sells their version for $24 USD (I’m guessing they’d hover around the same price as Clinique’s if they were to be sold here in Aus.) and Revlon’s latest release goes for $8ish USD.
How did Face of Australia’s stack up? While I can only compare based on my personal experience and after reading plenty of other bloggers’ reviews for the rest – pretty darn well. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the stay power.

Swatches- Cupcake,Macaron and Sundae.

Back:)

Overall score

8 out of 10

i would recommed this for a makeup beginner or someone who is younger as it isnt as pigmented as a lipstick and dosnt last for a long time, other than that i love the texture and packaging:)
